75.45 percent polling in Himachal assembly by-election

Shimla, Nov 30: Chief electoral officer Narinder Chauhan told Himvani that 75.45 per cent polling was seen in both segments, as it ended at 5:00pm. He said that 77.9 percent polling was recorded at Nalagarh while 73 percent at Renuka respectively.

Long lines of voters were visible out side the polling stations till 5:00pm and were allowed to cast their votes till 5:30pm. Narinder Chauhan said that polling was largely peaceful and fair, as there was no report of any untoward incidents form any of the 172 polling stations in both the constituencies. Altogether 48 polling stations had declared sensitive of which 21 were hyper sensitive. In Nalagarh, 14 polling stations had been declared sensitive and 18 as hyper sensitive, he said.
