Himachal ministers get rid of 'good old' Ambassador cars

Shimla (Sept 1): Despite state coffers being under heavy strain due to increasing load of debt, top government functionaries are enjoying the comfort of luxury cars, as out of 12 ministers and chief parliamentary aecretaries, only one prefers the good old’ Ambassador car.

According to information supplied by the government in reply to a question by Rakesh Kaliya (Cong-Chintpurni), the government said that health minister Rajiv Bindhal, education minister Ishwar Dass Dhiman, chief parliamentary secretary Satpal Sati and Virender Kanwar and PWD minister Gulab Singh were given Maruti Suzukhi SX4 cars.

State IPH minister Ravinder Singh Ravi, industry minister Kisan Kapoor, horticulture minister Narinder Bragta, social justice and women empowerment minister Sarvin Chaudhary have been given Toyoyta Corolla vehicles by the state government.

The only CPS, Sukh Ram Chaudhary, is using a Ambassador car. Opposition leader Vidya Stokes has been givien a Maruti Sukuki Baleno by the state government.

The trend was changed during prvious Congress regime which swithched
over to luxary car and alloted luxary cars to its Ministers and
Secretaries.

  1. This show how public money could be used by their care taker, Anna rightly pointed out about it during his fast at Ramlila ground. The Tax payer sponsoring luxury cars were toiling hard to have space in bus or if luckily he or she got it the have to pray for right seat.
