Uttralla tunnel to reduce distance by 200 kms: Tulsi Ram

Dharamsala: The road distance between Shimla and Chamba will reduc by nearly 200 kms by the proposed toad tunnel through Dhauladhar ranges. This was disclosed here by the Speaker of the Himachal assembly Tulsi Ram.

He said that the Holi (Chamba)-Uttrala (Kangra) tunnel project is at the last stage of clearance of the government. He said that two more road tunnels have also been proposed, which are Bangana-Dhneta in una and Kadsetar-Telang in Kullu district. He said a total of Rs 270 crore will be spent on these projects. He said that Himachal, which is striving for rail links since independence, will reduce road travel by boring road tunnels to boost tourism in the state.
