Shimla supports Anna Hazare, keeps lights off for an hour

Shimla (Aug 15): A large number of people in Shimla extended their support to social activist Anana Hazare by keeping their house lights off from 8 pm to 9 pm this evening, joined the silent protest on the eve of his fast unto death at JP Park in New Delhi.

People living in residential areas like Kasumpti,Vikasnagar, Sanjouli, New Shimla, Chora meidan, Bioleauganj, Tuto and Kachighati switched off their lights to support team Anana on the Jan Lokpal Bill issue.

Ashadeep, a prominent civil rights group in Himachal Pradesh, also organized a protest to support the cause. Talking to HimVani, Ashadeep president Sushil Tanwar said a large number of people showed their support by keeping their lights off for one hour. He said they also send SMSes to people about the call to keep light off, to which people responded postively. He said that Ashadeep would organized a protest at the DC office here tomorrow.
