Monsoon continues to be erratic in Himachal

Shimla (Aug 2): South West Monsoon continues to be erratic in Himachal Pradesh as it lashed parts of the state while some areas experienced swaltering heat.

Metorolgical Officer director Manmhan Singh said that while the monsoon was vigiorusly active in the intial phase, it has been dorment in in the plains and middle hills lately. Dehra-Gopipur in Kangra district had 39 mm rain, Dharamshala 38 mm, Nurpur 33mm, Guler 23 mm, Mehre 10 mm, Baijnath 9 mm, Baldwara had 25 mm rain, Joginder nagar and Pandoh 6 mm and Gohar 5 mm. In Hamirpur Sujanpur Tira 22 mm, Nadaun 21 mm, Hamirpur 16 mm, Bangana in Una 18 mm, Bhoranj 9 mm, respectively.

The Met office said that rain or thundershower are likely to occur at few
parts of the middle and plain areas during next 24 hours.
