Cong charge-sheet committee seeks evidence against corruption from public

Shimla (Jun 2): The newly constituted Charge-sheet committee of Himachal Congress has sought information about alleged acts of “omission and Commission” and corruption in the BJP government with documented evidence from Congressmen as well as general public.

The committee headed by former minister GS Bali discussed about 45 issues of alleged corruption at its first meeting today and decided to seek information about corruption from all the key functionaries of the party and also appealed to the people to help in exposing corrupt acts of the government. Talking to mediaperons, Bali said that the Committee would just complete a formality, but will come out with concrete facts about corruption
with irrefutable evidence and take care that image of no innocent person was sullied.

He said that lands and favours to hydropower companies, benami land deals and opening of private universities on a large scale would be some of the issued to be included in the charge-sheet. Bali said that the committee had already gathered enough information and the effort was on to gather more information by visiting all
districts and the charge-sheet would by ready by Independence Day.

He said that the committee consisting of former CPS Harshvardhan and Mukesh Agnihotri and Congress MLAs Shukvinder Singh Sukkhu and Kuldeep Singh Pathania was constituted by AICC general secretary and in charge
of Himachal, Birinder Singh, has been asked to prepare the charge-sheet within three months.

Bali refused to comment on the role of Shimla mayor Madhu Sood, who had changed her stance in Bemloe builder
case and sided with the commissioner, sating that that it was a matter between her and the party and he was not mandated to speak on the issue. Mukesh Agnihotri, a member of the committee, also said that the officers who had been going out of the way to please the political bosses had already been identified and the charges would also include corrupt acts of some officers also.
