Four die as vehicle rolls down in khud

Nahan: Four persons died on spot and 25 were injured when utility vehicle no. HP-17B-2303 rolled down in khud near Timbi on Paonta-Shillai road about 76K.M from here last late evening.

Superintendent of police district Sirmour Puneeta Bhardwaj said that the persons who lost their lives were identified as Satpal Singh(23)of Malah village,Gulsher (22) of Saharanpur(UP), Parkash Chand(25) and Mittar Singh(24) both from Shillai. She said that accident occurred due to overloading and driver could not control the vehicle on a turn.

She said that four persons were referred to PGI Chandigarh under serious conditions ,ten were discharged at Shillai hospital after first-aid, six were admitted in Paonta hospital and five were admitted at Nahan Zonal hospital. Bhardwaj said that Shillai police has registered a case and investigations are in progress.
