Himachal govt issues letter of intent to open three more medical colleges

Shimla (May 7): Himachal Pradesh government has issued letter of intent to open three more medical collages as ‘Green Field Projects’ in district Solan, Una and Hamirpur. With this the number of medical colleges in the state will go up to six.

While addressing media persons here today, health minister Rajiv Bindal said “We have issued ‘ letter of Intent’ under ‘Green Field Project’ to open medical collages in Solan, Una and Hamirpur districts. Moreover, medical college in Solan is in an advances stage and the government is expecting to begin admission by 2012.” He said that the first batch of 100 MBBS classes in ESI Medical College at Ner Chowk in Mandi district would also start from next year. Bindal also said that the state government has got permission to increase the number of MBBS seats at IGMC Shimla from 65 to 100 and 50 to 100 at Dr
Rajinder Prasad Tanda Medial College. He said that state government has also got approval from MCI to increased PG seat in IGMC from 39 to 82 and start 29 PG courses(MD and MS) at Tanda medical college.

  1. Good to know that.. It would be great if we also open good managment collages. I’m sure it will add to our demand to have good managment schools. I’m staying in Delhi and working in IT company. Very Interested to start MBA/hotel managment/fashion designing & Media communication collage in H.P, can any one will let me know which is the right place to start my project. Pls advise me…

  3. i glad to knw dat u open new medical colleges in hp. Please start classes as soon as possible because there are poor medical conditions in hp, there is a need of lots of doctors
