Fair price medicine shops record Rs 43.74 Cr turnover

Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Civil Supply Corporation registered Rs 43.74 crore annual turn over in its 33 fair price medicine outlets near various top hospitals in the state, which provide life saving and others drugs on more than 7 percent subsidized rates.

Food and Civil Supply Minister Ramesh Dhawala said that during previous years corporation registered 37.46 crore turnover, which has now gone up to 43.74 crore, registering a huge leap in its business in public interest. He said that fair price shops not only ensures availability of life saving drugs on subsidized rates, but it also provides its services round the clock to people. He also said that the department is keeping vigil on the unfair business practices in these shops and regular checking is being conducted in the shops to ensure the constant supply of medicines to the people.
