Shimla (Apr 30): Himachal Pradesh government has finally decided to set up a single window clearance system to allow shooting of films in the state. The move comes a week after actor Sunny Deol expressed willingness to develop a film city at Manali. Under the new system, permission would be granted for shooting within three days of receiving an application by the department of tourism and civil aviation.

Tourism director Arun Sharma said film-makers would have to submit their requests well in advance with details of shooting schedule, place of shooting, etc, mentioned clearly so that permission could be given well in time.

  1. Ooops ! Helllow ! It has nothing to do with Sunny Deol…break this ‘automated’ habit of putting 2+2. I didn’t want to say this but the record has to be put straight…it was i and few film co-ordinators on whose insistence i fixed up time with Sh.Arun Sharma on the day Sri Sri was there in Shimla(at 3 p.m. in HP Sectt. and i was there because of 1st SIFF…after follow – ups from Mumbai via sms to and fro fm Sh. AS too and waitimg for the session to be over + interspersed weekly holidays finally it was ‘officially’ done and i only suggested him to send an off note as my sms’s to the journos including you didn’t yield any response except Surekha Dhaleta fro TOI – the art was ther before the press brief)! I had a harrowing time for CID shoot last year despite good persons. We need pros like Sh.AS to ‘bell the cat’ !
