Shimla (April 21): A government has decided to release 10 per cent
dearness allowance installment to the employees of Himachal Pradesh
Road transport Corporation (HRTC) to be paid in cash with the salary
of April, 2011, and the arrear from 1st July 2010 to 31st March, 2011
would be credited to their GPF accounts.

This was decided in the meeting of Board of Directors of HRTC
held under the chairmanship of transport minister Mahendar Singh Thakur, who is also Chairman of HRTC.

The government also decided to release of second installment of Rs
10,000 from arrears of revision of pay scales in cash on the pattern
of government employees, to increase the enhancement of wages of
contractual employees from 20 per cent to 30 per cent due from February
2011, pending decision on revision of wages to initial pay plus grade
pay under consideration with the finance department, to regularize all
contractual employees who have completed eight years of service in
HRTC as on 31st March 2010.

It was also decided to recommend the case for conversion of booking
agents to the posts of Transport Multipurpose Assistants (TMPA’s)/bus
sahayaks to the service committee. The matter regarding re-designating
conductors as senior conductors and drivers as senior drivers
alongwith payment of Rs 100 as special allowance per month who have
completed 23 years of service in HRTC would be placed before service
committee.

The Board also recommended taking up the matter with the state
government for filling up the posts of conductors as bus sahayak on
commission basis and the drivers against the vacant posts, falling
vacant upto 31 December, 2012.

It was also decided to place the matter before Service Committee
for conversion of meal rate Washer Boys as daily wage employees and
also to get the same approved from the Council of Ministers for
creation of such posts.
