Rain, storms hit parts of Himachal

Shimla (April 19): Rain accompanied with wind storms hit many parts of Himachal Pradesh today, damaging fruit crops.

In Kullu district tourist destination Manali, Seobagh and Mandi got 27 mm rainfall each, Pandoh in Mandi 18 mm, Guler & Nagrota Suriyan in Kangra and Bhuntar of Kullu 17 mm each, Karsog of Mandi 16 mm, Nurpur of Kangra 14 mm, Sunni Bhajji in Shimla 12 mm, Rampur of Shimla & Pachhad in Sirmaur 11 mm each.

The minimum at Shimla was 7.8 degree Celsius, Sundernagar 11.5 degrees, Bhuntar 8.6 degrees, Kalpa 1.5 degrees, Dharamsala 9.5 degrees, Una 14.4 degrees, Mandi 12.3 degrees, Nahan 13.7 degrees, Keylong 0.4 degrees, Palampur 11 degrees and Solan 10.7 degrees.

The Met office forecast that rain or snowfall is likely to occur at isolated parts in high reaches of Himachal Pradesh.
