Dharamsala (March 30): Cowsheds are likely to be attached with the main temples like Kangra, Chamunda and Jawalaji in district Kangra to provide shelter to stray cows in view of their religious significance in Hinduism.

Deputy commissioner RS Gupta said that cowsheds with a capacity to have about 50 cows will be attached with the main temples within Kangra district and the first will be inaugurated today.

Medical facilities will also be available through the animal husbandry department in these cowsheds, he added. Recently Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal had inaugurated a cowshed with capacity of about 500 cows near Khajian in Kangra.
