Veterinary dispensary in every Himachal panchayat by 2012: Dhumal

Sundernagar (Mar 22): The state-level Nalwar fair, the biggest cattle fair of north India, started here today with Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal inauguration the seven-day event.

He headed a colourful procession which started from PWD rest house and ended at Nagaun Khud where he performed puja of a pair of bulls and afterwards hoisted the fair flag at Jawar Park. While addressing the gather, he said that by the end of 2012 every panchayat in Himachal would be having its independent veterinary dispensary. He said as of now 1,272 panchayats are without veterinary dispensaries. This year the government has opened 187 veterinary dispensaries and 900 veterinary pharmacists are being trained.

He said Mandi IIT would start classes at its Kamand campus in the next academic session besides the ESIC Medical College also starting classes next year. Prior to it, the Chief Minister laid a foundation stone of drinking water scheme at Khilra and he also halted at the local Press Club whare the construction of Press Club building is going on.
