Government to inquire into the complaints pertaining to misuse of allotted land

Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Government would inquire into the complaints pertaining to the misuse of land allotted to the landless people in the state, said Revenue Minister Gulab Singh Thakur replying to questions in the Vidhan Sabha on Wednesday.

Replying to query raised by Nikhil Rajour (Cong. Jaswana) and Vipin Singh Parmar (BJP-Sulah), Revenue Minister Gulab Singh Thakur disclosed that department has received 8063 application from landless, while only 520 were found eligible. It has allotted land to 212 landless people off whom 192 belong to rural area and 19 are in urban. He assured that complaints pertaining to misuse of allotted lands when G.S Bali (Nagrota-Cong) argued that many cases were using the allotted land for commercial purposes.
