Prohindutava organisations lodge protest against Valentines Day

Shimla: Organisations belongig to prohinudutava idealogy today lodged a protest against Valentines Day here this afternoon and torched literature glorifying the occasion.

About 20 protesters belonging to Vishav Hindu Parishad, RSS and Bajrang Dal today gathered here outside the Deputy Commissioner Office, lodging protest against the celebration on Valentines Day, terming it against the culture and value of the nation. Agitators led by secretary of Vishav Hindu Parishad Bal Ram Sharma, lauded slogan against blind imitation of occidental values and culture. The protesters torched clippings of Hindi News Paper Punjab Kesri and literature glorifying Valentines Day.

Bal Ram addressed the protesters and said that editors of Punjab Kesri, one of the oldest Hindu News Paper once known for preservation of culture and moral values of this country is now promoting vulgar culture, which is unacceptable to most of people living in this country. It deserves condemnation and therefore they opt to burn down its clippings, projecting Valentines Day like an Indian festival.
