Days warmer, night temperatures dip in Himachal

Himvani: (Jan24) The day temperatures in Himachal Pradesh were marginally high while night temperatures dipped several degrees below normal, making for a severe chill at night.

Minimum temperature further declined today as Keylong in Lahaul Spiti district recorded coldest in the state at minus 16.7 degree Celsius, seven degrees below normal.

Kalpa in Kinnuar was minus 5.2 degrees, Solan minus 1.2 degrees, Sundernagar minus 1.1 degrees, Bhuntar 0.6 degrees, Shimla 2.2 degrees, Una 2.5 degrees, Mandi 3.5 degrees, Dharamshala 4.5 degrees and Nahan 6.3 degrees.

Bright sunshine during the day helped mercury remain substantially high, two to three degree above normal as maximum temperature in Shimla was 12.0 degrees, Sundernagar 18.5 degrees, Bhuntar 18.0 degrees, Dharamshala 20.4 degrees, Una 21.2 degrees, Mandi 18.4 degrees, Nahan 17.5 degrees and Solan 18.2 degrees.

The Met Office forecast mainly dry weather conditions to be pervail in the state during next 24 hrs.
