Four new PG courses in IGMC Shimla

Shimla (Jan 20): Medical Council of India had accorded approval for two seats each in DM cardiology and MCH cardio thoraisic vascular surgery in Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital, Shimla.

While speaking in the meeting of State Advisory Committee on Health Matters here today, state health minister Rajiv Bindal said that MCI has given its assent to go ahead with four more PG seat in IGMC from the coming academic year as four such subjects were already given permission by the MCI.

He said that a convey of 21 more ambulances would be added to the existing fleet of 50 under Atal Swasthya Sewa Scheme, raising the total number from 50 to 71 by 25th February 2011. He said that the service would be extended to three more districts by 31st March 2011, thereby covering 10 districts out of 12 districts by this date.

Health Minister said that Hospital Management Information System software had been developed by the health department and would be introduced in Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital on trial basis by the end of this month.

He said that the hospital would be online and a special ID would be assigned to every patient and their records would be maintained online. He said that efforts were being made to connect all the district hospitals with the state level hospital in a phased manner.

Earlier, while presiding over the meeting of Naturopathy and Yog Advisory Board, the minister said that naturopathy treatment would be started in six hospitals of the state by 30th June 2011.
