Monkey assault leaves one injured at Jakhu temple

    Shimla (Jan 10) A student was injured when a monkey attacked him at the famous Jakhu temple dedicated to Lord Hanumana here on Sunday.

    He was rushed to IGMC Hospital, with injuries mainly on the face and provided medical treatment.

    Sanjeev Kumar (20) from Ani area in Kullu district, who is a student at Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in Shimla, was coming down the stairs in temple premises, when monkey attacked him without any provocation.

    When contacted over phone, Sanjeev Kumar said that monkey attacked him without any provocation and his spectacles were also broken in the incident. He had to be administered for necessary medical aid at the IGMC Hospital.

    Shimla witnesses repeated instances of monkeys taking away spectacles and virtually blackmailing people into giving them foodstuff, particularly at Jakhu temple.
