Snowfall in higher reaches affects life and tribal chopper flights

Shimla: Current inclement weather conditions prevailing in the state brought a light spell of snowfall in high reaches of state while cloudy weather once again forced the people to shiver in the cold wave. In addition, tribal flights launched by state government remained suspended due to rough weather conditions. It could not operate for second consecutive day today. Lalaul Spiti information officer Sher Singh said that despite having demand of the people to get evacuated them from snow locked district, it could not fly due to bad weather.

Lahaul Spiti district experienced mild snowfall while overcast weather is forcing people to shiver in the cold weather in the down stream areas. The night temperature was minus 8.4 degrees in Keylong of Lahaul Spiti followed by Kalpa at minus three, Solan minus one degree. Sundernagar in Mandi was low at two degree, Dharamshala, Shimla, Bhuntar, Mandi 3 degrees each, Una 4 degrees, Nahan 5.4 degrees and Palampur 6.2 degrees.
