Fire renders 3 families homeless in Himachal

    Shimla (Dec 29) Three families were rendered homeless, yesterday as their houses were gutted down by a devastating fire. The incident occurred at Barthata village of Jubbal in Shimla district, in the intervention night of Dec 28 and 29, fire sources said.

    The houses belonged to Champa Lal, Bhupinder and Verinder forcing the three families to live under open sky in the icy cold night.

    The reason of fire is yet to be ascertained that caused an estimated loss of Rs 30-35 lakh that devastated the building and all valuables.

    Even as the local people tried to douse down the flames, however the wooden houses intensified the inferno.

    Horticulture Minister, Narinder Bragta visited the affected village  and distributed Rs 40 thousand each to effected family each to effected families.

    Meanwhile district administration distributed Rs 15,000, five blankets, one tent and one month’s ration each to affected households.

    Minister has ordered the administration to assist rehabilitating of the affected families by providing them every kind of assistance.
