Industrialists hail extension of Tax wavier in HP

    Nahan (Dec 27) Industrialists in Himachal Pradesh are enthusiastic
    for extension of tax wavier for another ten years by Union
    Government, functionary of PHD Chamber of Commerce told here today.

    The Industries migrating from Sirmour, Solan and Una district of Himachal Pardesh after withdrawal of industrial package, have expressed keenness to continue their production in the state.

    This comes following the Central Board of Excise and Custom notification issued on Dec 24, 2010, declaring to continue tax wavier to those units which had come up during the package period and did not complete ten years.

    HP attracts Rs 14,097 Cr investment in 7 yrs. package duration

    A special package for industrial development in Himachal Pradesh was given by the Atal Bihari Vajpayee-led BJP government in the centre in 2003 for 10 years.

    But the successive Congress-led United Progressive Alliance Government curtailed it to 2007. Later, it was restored till 2010, which expired March 31.

    Official data show that during this entire package period the government attracted and cleared 3,469 industrial proposals worth Rs.14, 097.63 crore.
