One dies, eight injured under bridge shuttering

    Palampur (Dec 3): One persons was killed and eight were reported injured when shuttering of an under-construction overbridge in Palampur on the Pathankot-Palampur-Mandi national highway capsized while work was in progress today.

    Expressing shock over this mishap Public Works Minister Gulab Singh Thakur said that one work inspector of the Public Works Department died on the spot. He said that inured were admitted to Tanda medical college while one critical victim had been referred to PGI Chandigarh and another injured to CMC, Ludhiana for further treatment. Thakur said that the government has constituted an inquiry committee under the chairmanship of engineer-in-chief (Quality Control) KK Kampani, which would submit its report within 15 days.
