Dharamsala (Nov 12): Hundreds of Tibetan Youth Congress (TYC) workers accompanied by monks, Indian & foreigners staged protests against China holding Asian Games on its soil. People gathered in the main Buddhist temple situated at McLeodganj where TYC president Tsewang Rigzin flagged off a bike rally to Delhi, carrying a torch (mashaal) to protest against the Chinese occupation of Tibet.

TYC officials stated: “A country like China, which still exercises the policy of illegal colonisation of small & helpless countries like Tibet, Mongolia, Turkmenistan, and has illegally taken over the natural resources of such countries, has no right to conduct these Games.” The bikers will carry the torch to Rajghat where they will pay homage to Mahatma Gandhi, after which they will take out a massive rally at Jantar Mantar.
