ADB to fund tourism projects worth Rs. 454 Cr in HP

Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister, Prem Kumar Dhumal said that Asian Development Bank had agreed in principle to fund various tourism development projects aggregating to Rs. 454 crore in different parts of the State. This was disclosed by the chief minister at village Harath in district Solan, on his visit to Shakti Mohan Heritage Park being developed by Shakti Mohan Trust. He said that the fund would be utilised for infrastructure upgradation of tourism promotion activities which included development of Pong Dam reservoir into a favourite tourist destination, beautification of Shimla town, development of Kangra circuit and similar other sectors in the state.

Chief Minister complimented Brig. Kapil Mohan for undertaking an ambitious mega project in Himachal Pradesh by constructing a beautiful heritage park in Solan district where former Prime Minister, Shri Atal Behari Vajpayee had laid the foundation stone on December 1, 2002. He said that the park was coming up as a best tourist destination to add to the tourism promotion activities in the state and attract tourists to visit the Park area on its completion. He hoped that the park would be part of the tourism circuit with Patanjli Yog Peeth at Sadhu Pul and Chail to attract large number of tourists.
