IIT classes begin at Mandi college

Mandi: Classes for the Indian Institute of Technology coming up near Mandi began at the transit campus in Mandi College today with the first batch of 98 students. They would be followed by 120 students of the second batch on August 16. For the last two years classes were being held at IIT Roorkee. IIT Mandi is one of the eight new premier technology institutes set up by the government across the country and is second in the region after Ropar in Punjab, which started functioning last year.
