Air Force cycling expedition flagged off

Dalhousie: The IAF mountain terrain bike adventure expedition from Dalhousie to Leh was flagged off by Group Captain PS Malhi, station commander of the Indian Air Force (IAF) Station here on today. The fifteen-day bicycle expedition passing through callous snowy cliffs would culminate at Leh in Jammu and Kashmir on August 1.

The aim of the expedition s to build capabilities, stamina and resolute among air warriors, apart from carrying out publicity of Indian Air Force in the far-flung areas of the country. The bicycle expedition is being undertaken for the first time through one of the toughest mountainous terrains of the world.

The adventure expedition is being organised under the aegis of Western Air Command headquarters of the Indian Air Force. The participants comprised twelve personnel from all ranks, who are looking forward to challenge and adventure. They have been preparing themselves for the past two months by undergoing vigorous training at Air Force Station, Dalhousie, to test their strength and determination.
