BJP to observe nation-wide 'bandh' on July 5

Shimla: The Himachal Pradesh unit of BJP has decided to observe one day ‘bandh’ on July 5 in consonance with the the call given by the party high command for nation-wide protest against recent steep hike in petrol, diesel and LPG gas prices by the Congress-lead UPA government.

Disclosing the party’s plan to lodge protest in the state, Himachal BJP in-charge Satpal Jain said that emergency services would be keep out from the purview of bandh. Hailing the similar call given by the Left parties to observe one-day ‘hartal’ on the same day in the state, he noted that “it does not matter that on whose call people join the protest, but they should protest against ‘adamant and shameful’ decisions of UPA to hike price of petroleum products.”
