Pre-monsoon showers lash parts of Himachal

Shimla: Pre-monsoon showers lashed many parts of Himachal Pradesh today as inclement weather conditions prevailed in the state. The Met office said south-west monsoon rains are likely to touch the state by July 4-5.

Amb in Una recorded 32 mm rainfall, followed by Nalagarh in Solan and Mandi with 24 mm, Jubbar Hatti in Shimla district 18 mm, Sujanpur Tira in Hamirpur 15 mm, Solan 14 mm, Arki 12 mm and Kasauli 7mm. Tourist hill stations Dharamshala and Shimla also reported showers as both the places were engulfed by clouds.

The maximum temperature recorded at Sundernagar and Nahan was 27 degree Celsius each, Bhuntar in Kullu 26.2 degrees, Shimla and Kalpa in Kinnaur 19 degrees, Dharamshala in Kangra 34.2 degrees, Una 32.8 degrees, Mandi 29 degrees and Solan 23.5 degrees.
State meteorological officer Manmohan Singh said rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at few parts of the state in the coming 24 hours
