American biker dies in snowstorm

Manali: An American mountain biker was killed due to cold in Lahaul and Spiti district as he was stuck there for several days due to snowstorms. Besides, the district administration also rescued around 30 tourists, including a group from Mumbai, who were airlifted to Manali.

Jewel Edward (56) was separated from other members of his mountain biking team during a snowstorm and died at Chhatru near Kunzam Pass on Saturday. At least twelve foreign tourists trapped in the storm were brought to Keylong by rescue teams while 16 out of 33 tourists from Mumbai who were stranded in Batal for past five days were airlifted to Manali.
