Shimla: As JBT trainees have intensified their protests in the state, the government organised a meeting with the protesters, which reportedly did not help resolve the deadlock.

In a press statement issued here, Shrikant Baldi, principal secretary, education, mentioned that a meeting was held with representatives of JBT trainees to discuss the long-pending demands and issues of JBT trainees. He assured the representatives of JBT trainees that after completion of their training all the trainees would be provided government jobs on contract basis. He said that the government was also ready to give them assurance in writing if they give up their agitation in a peaceful manner.

He said that all appointments in the department i.e. college and school lecturers, TGT and other categories, were being done on contract basis. He appealed the parents of the JBT trainees to ask their wards to successfully complete their training. Meanwhile, the JBT teachers decided to continue their strike until government sings a bound with them to provided regular jobs after their training.
