Rs 40-cr Regional Institute for Urban Management in Himachal

Shimla: Union tourism, housing and urban poverty alleviation minister Kumari Selja said that a ‘Regional Institute for Urban Management in Hilly Areas’ would be opened in Himachal Pradesh, for which a sum of Rs 40 crore had been sanctioned. She was speaking on the occasion of two-day seminar on ‘Integrated and Sustainable Urbanization in Himachal Pradesh’ at Himachal Institute of Public Administration.

The Union minister said that the institute would provide valuable inputs for urban management and housing for all the hilly states of the country and besides Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir and North East states would be benefited with the opening of this institute.
