Shimla: Hitting back at Himachal BJP leaders, who have been alleging discrimination against the state by the Union government, Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee today lashed out at the state government claiming that it failed to fully utilize central funds given to the state for various developmental works.
Addressing a news conference here today, Congress state spokesperson Kuldeep Singh Rathore said that the CAG had pointed out that the state government could not fully utilized fund given to it under National Rural Health Mission. He pointed out that the state government received Rs 300 crore under NREGA, but it could use only Rs 103 crore from this amount. The Congress leader also accused BJP regime of failing to properly implement Jawahar Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) scheme in the state.
Rathore accused the state government of handing over state land on lease basis to benefit outsiders especially private universities being opened up in ‘abundance and without any merit’. Raising fingers at the quality of CFL bulbs supplied to people by the state electricity board under Atal Bijili Bachat Yojna, Rathore accused the government that substandard quality CFLs were supplied to innocent people, and despite giving promise to replace faulty lamps they are not being replaced after having large complaints in this regard.
