Fatehpur: While thousand of people are being deprived of adequate health service at the Public Health Centre here due to shortage of staff, the state government has sent seven staff members including a doctor on deputation to other locations. This PHC provides health services to nearly 40 adjoining panchayats. It is pertinent to mention here that although this PHC has been given the status of a FRU under the National Health Mission of the central government, the requisite guidelines are not being followed by the state government with regard to posting of staff and doctors.

No specialist doctor and surgeon have been posted here, although the state government receives financial grants from the central government for running such PHCs. As against three posts of pharmacists only one has been filled, which is also a reason for the hardships being faced by patients who are forced to visit private doctors for health related problems. Machinery worth lakhs of rupees is lying unutilized in this PHC due to the absence of a radiographer and surgeon.

Sunita Devi, pradhan, Gram Panchayat Fatehpur; Vinaayak Sharma, uppradhan, Fatehpur; Pawan Kumar, Zila Parishad member; along with the general public have appealed to the administration to take appropriate steps for proper functionality of the PHC.

On the other hand, SMO Ashok Kumar did acknowledge that there was shortage of staff in the PHC, whereas BMO A.K. Riyaal said that there is shortage of staff throughout the health department of the state. Health minister Rajiv Bindal stated that efforts were being made by the government to fill the vacant posts of doctors and supporting staff within the state and soon this problem would be solved.

To Weaken the Health Security or Govt Hospital by giving aid to private hospital is not a corruption ? whereas they are making money through uncessarily bills
