4-year-old among 2 killed in school bus accident

Shimla: A school bus and a Tempo-Trax collided at Bharoli near Jawalaji this morning killing two and injuring 24 others. One student of DAV School, Bharoli, was among the dead. The ill-fated bus carrying 41 students was on its way to Bharoli from Nadon while the Tempo-Trax was on its way to Deothsidh from Jawalamukhi.

Police source said that the accident took place at 7.45 am and Chamaruram (40) sitting in Tempo-Trax died on the spot while Sahil (4) sitting in the bus succumbed to injures on way to hospital, while 24 others, including 10 students sustained injuries. Five among the injured were reported to be critical.

Injured were immediately rushed to Nadon Hospital from where seriously injured were referred to Dr. Rajinder Prasad Medical College Hospital at Tanda. Two persons with minor injuries were discharged after giving first aid. Police registered a case for rash driving against the Tempo-Trax deriver and bodies of the deceased were sent for postmortem.
