‘Bhutico’ confers ‘Thakur Ved Ram National Award’ to UNI chief

Kullu: Bhutico conferred Thakur Ved Ram National Award to UNI editor-in-chief and general manager Arun Kumar Bhandari in the annual prize distribution ceremony held here on Wednesday.

Vice-chief of Indian Army (retd.) and former chairman of HP Public Service Commission, Bhupinder Singh Thakur, who was chief guest on this occasion, handed over the award. Bhandari was honored for his meritorious services rendered in print and electronic media in the country and abroad.

Programme executive of All India Radio (AIR) for electronic media Dr Inder Jeet Duggal, Mahinder Sharma of Surya Prabha Prakeshan (publication for literature), IAS officers (Retd.) TG Negi and DC Chauhan were four other recipients of the award in their respective fields. Beside this, three other awards in the series, Chander Shaiker ‘Baibus’, Chand Kulvi Lal, Chand Prarthi and Thakur Malu Ram Awards were given to Kamal Kant Vidrohi (literature), former MLA and literary luminary Prem Pakharolvi (literature) and Thakur Molu Ram Jiwant (weaving), respectively.
