Six die, three wounded in separate mishaps

Shimla: At least six people were killed and three others sustained injuries in four separate road mishaps that occurred in the state on Saturday.

Police sources said that two persons died on the spot when a jeep carrying them fell into a 150-feet deep gorge near Kharhan at Nankhari, 40 km from Rampur on Saturday. The deceased belong from J&K, identified as Fiaz Ahemad and Abdul Azij.

A truck trolley carrying three persons rolled down a road at Holi area in Chamba district early this morning. Two local residents Sanjay and Kabul Singh died on the spot and Sunil Kumar and Bhola Ram were critically injured in the incident. The third mishap occurred at Jogindernagar when a tractor overturned on the road killing one person. The fourth incident took place at Sarkaghat in Mandi district when a scooter rider, identified as Kamlesh, died due to head injury.
