Hamirpur: A 19-year-old student of National Institute of Technology, Hamirpur, committed suicide on Saturday, apparently due to depression as he had failed to clear his semester papers. Sandeep Kumar, an architecture student at NIT, belonged to Naya Nagar area of Hamirpur. His family members said that he was asked to sit in the second semester as he had not been able to clear some of his papers, while his friends had moved to fourth semester. Sandeep had even stopped attending classes without telling his parents. When they came to know about it, he had told them that he was not interested in pursuing engineering.
