Dhumal presents Rs 941.95 crore supplementary demands for 2009-10

Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minster Prem Kumar Dhumal presented the first and final batch of Supplementary Demands of Rs 941.95 crore for the year 2009-10 in the state Assembly here today.

Out of Rs 941.95 crore, Rs 236.77 crore is under plan schemes, Rs 252.65 crore under centrally sponsored schemes and Rs 453.53 under non-plan. Dhumal said that major expenditure is proposed under plan schemes includes Rs 77.82 crore for reconstruction and maintenance of roads and bridges, Rs 33.3 core for Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojna, Rs 14.37 crore for Himachal Processing and Marketing Corporation(HPMC), Himachal Pradesh Milk Federation (HIMFED) and Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishav Vidayla (HPKVV), Palampur, for bearing pending liabilities, Rs 13.50 crore for construction of various works under agriculture and animal husbandry departments, Rs 12 core for National Institute of Fashion Technology, Kangra, Rs 9.31 crore for modernization of land records, Rs six crore for completion of various ongoing works of police organization, Rs 5.43 crore for restoration of damaged works of IPH and Rs 43.64 crore for capital works in tribal areas.

Rs 143.11 crore has been earmarked under CSSs for Swajal Dhara scheme, Rs 32.61 cores under Jawahar Lal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission, Rs 31.33 cores under Special Nutrition Scheme, Rs 13.99 crore for seed distribution and macro management of agriculture, Rs 8.01 core under modernization of police force, Rs 7.66 for strengthening of land record agency and agriculture Census and RS 5.70 crore for center of excellence scheme under World Bank assistance.

Under non-plan expenditure, Rs 291.40 crore has been earmarked to meet salaries to meet the addition liability on account of revision of pay scales, Rs 20 crore under food subsidy for providing ration on subsidized rates, Rs 17.50 crore for purchase of seeds and pesticides, Rs 16 crore for election expenditure, Rs 12.83 crore for payment of compensation of land acquired for construction of roads and Rs six crore for clearance of pending medical claims of retirees. Later, Dhumal moved the supplementary demands to grant House approval, which was later approved by voice vote.
