Himachal to raise its own industrial security force

New Delhi: Asserting its recently acquired status of an emerging industrial state, Himachal Pradesh may soon have its own “State Industrial Security Force” on the pattern of CRPF, to exclusive cater to security needs of industrial establishments within the state.

Speaking at the Chief Ministers’ conference on internal security in New Delhi today, forest minister JP Nadda said that the state has registered massive investment in industry, hydel power and tourism sectors in recent years and a need has been felt to create exclusive force for maintaining industrial peace and law and order in industrial townships of the state.

Nadda requested the union government to arrange the training of ‘3’ company of police force in commando operations through paramilitary forces and told that one commando company has already been trained by the Punjab police recently. He also requested the Union Government to provide necessary infrastructure and resources to the state government to set up modern commando training centre in the state.
