Umang Foundation adopts girl child for open-heart surgery

Shimla: Umang Foundation has adopted an eight-year-old girl, Surti, for her open-heart surgery. She lives in a slum near Dharamsala in district Kangra of Himachal Pradesh..Ajai Srivastava, chairman of the Foundation said today that her father Om Prakash is a poor rag picker and cannot afford her treatment. “She has a hole in her heart since birth and now her condition is deteriorating. …Surti is to be operated upon at Indira Gandhi Medical College in Shimla in November. We would try to manage the expences to be incured on her surgery and further treatment from the support of friends,” he added.

  1. It is a good initiative taken by Umang Foundation. Still there are some people who think of others. I'm sure many donors would come forward to save the life of a poor girl child. Being a student, I personally can not contribute financially. But I would love to do social service for the needy and poor if an opportunity is given to me by Umang Foundation.

    • Hi Anju, Thanks your comments and compliments. You are true, the students can't contribute financially but they can spare some time for social cause. You and other students and youth are always welcome by Umang Foundation to join it. It it my firm belief that it is the youth who can change the world. Please feel free to contact me any time.
