5 CMs to attend meet on climate change

Shimla: Chief ministers of five northern states will discuss the impact of climate change in the Himalayan region at a two-day conference starting ehre on starting October 29. The conference will be attended by the chief ministers of Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttrakhand, Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim, besides senior officers, technocrats, research scholars and NGOs. Union minister of state for Environment and Forest (Independent charge), Jairam Ramesh, will also be present during the conclave. The conclave, being organised by HP government, would go through the experts’ recommendations for formulating action plan to check environmental degradation.
