Shimla: Hinting at lack of clarity on the issue of polythine ban in the state, the Himachal Pradesh government has extended the deadline for the ban from August 15 to October 2.

According to sources, this was decided during a meeting of the state cabinet last night. The government had earlier decided to impose a complete ban on use of polythene bags and other plastic items from the Independence Day. Sources claim the government is yet to finalize modalities of the ban and therefore this delay.
