Shimla: A delegation of members from International Society for Cooperation and Development, lead by Yuvraj Bodh, who met Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal today claimed that a polymer byproduct of maize can be a possible substitute for polythene in the state. The delegation detailed the environment-friendly qualities of the product which would be instrumental in generating local market to maize producers and provide them remunerative prices at their door steps.  The Chief Minister said that the state government would get the byproduct tested and examined by experts to explore the possibility of adopting the same as an alternate to the polythene and plastic bags.
