Dharamsala: In yet another incident of pilgrimage turning tragic in Himachal, at least seven people, including three women and two children, were killed near Kunal Pathri temple in Dharamsala when the truck in which they were traveling rolled down a gorge on Sunday evening.

Besides, 57 other pilgrims were also injured, with at lest five of them being referred to PGI in Chandigarh in critical condition. The accident was freak in the sense that the truck was stationery when some children sitting besides the driver’s seat mistakenly shifted the gear to neutral while the driver was down. The ill-fated truck was carrying pilgrims from Kotkawala village near Kangra and was on its way back when the incident happened.

I keep wondering why tragedy befalls the devotees going to a religious place or while returning from temples or other places of worship. there are instances galore when the number of victims is quite large, be it vehicular accident or stampede!
