Rajendra Rajan to attend Film Appreciation Course-2009

Shimla: Rajendra Rajan, a creative writer, presently working as deputy director in the Information & Public Relations Department, Shimla, has been selected for the Film Appreciation Course – 2009. The four-week training course is being conducted by National Film Archive of India in collaboration with Film & Television Institute of India from 25th May to 20th June 2009 at Pune.

The annual summer course in film appreciation is primarily designed to meet the needs of government officials handling films, film critics, journalists, film researchers and film society organizers. The participants from different professions from all over India will be exposed to the best of Indian and world cinema. Among the major topics to be taught during the course include basics of film making, cinema as an art, film history, film theory and the relationship of cinema to other arts.
