Shimla: Professor Sunil Gupta has been appointed as the new Vice Chancellor of Himachal Pradesh University. A notification to this effect was issued by Governor V.S. Kokje who is Chancellor of the University. As per the notification his appointment is with effect from April 11 or from the date he assumes charge of the office of Vice Chancellor.
Dr. Sunil Gupta is the chairperson of the Commerce department of Himachal Pradesh University and would replace Dr. Anil Wilson who had resigned last month from the post. Anil Wilson holds the charge of the post till April 10.
Dr. Gupta has a teaching experience of 28 years, during which he has published six books, 19 research projects and 17 research publications. He has been an active member of the Himachal Pradesh University Teachers’ body which he headed from 1999 to 2001. He has been active member of BJP teachers cell.
