Locals come up in support of Tibetans

Dharamsala: Members of Indo-Tibet Friendship Society and Bharat-Tibet Sahyog Manch held a protest march here yesterday to condemn the alleged human rights violations in Tibet. meanwhile, protesting Tibetan monks continued their chain hunger strike for the ninth day while other Tibetans continued with candle-light protests.Shops and restaurants run by local Indians also remained closed to express solidarity.
“We pray that the Dalai Lama’s peaceful efforts to negotiate with China bears fruits,”" said Prem Sagar of the Bharat Tibet Sahyog Manch.
Ram Swaroop of Indo-Tibet Friendship Society expressed solidarity with the Tibetan community, saying that they were concerned about about what’s happening in Tibet.

    It is good gesture from locals indeed. Regardless of how politics of land works, people have always supported Tibetans. They are kind of peope who deserve to preserve their culture.
