Himachal humbles Punjab in cricket

New Delhi: Continuing with its miraculous rise in Indian cricket, Himachal Pradesh today humbled mighty Punjab by four wickets in a crucial North Zone one-day cricket league match to become the second team after Delhi to have qualified for the knockout phase.
The match played at the Jamia Millia ground turned out to be a thriller with Himachal reaching the set target just one ball before the full quota of overs. Punjab scored 255 runs in 50 overs with Pankaj Dharmani top-scoring with 94. Paras Dogra was the highest scorer for Himachal with 64 runs while Ajay Manu contributed 40 and Kuldeep Diwan struck 36. With this victory, Himachal moved to 16 points.
