By: Ajai Srivastava

Shimla: Soon after being administered oath by State Governor, V S Kokje, the new Cabinet didn’t waste much time and got to work immediately.

In some of the important decisions taken by the Cabinet’s first meeting, today, the support price for citrus fruits (kinnu and galgal) were raised by 50 per cent per kg.

The cabinet also decided to increase the wages of daily workers from Rs 75 to Rs 100 and hike in social security pension of widow, disabled and old persons from Rs 200 to Rs 300 per month. There are a total 12,50,000 families in the state and the two decisions would give relief to about 6,00,000 families.

To bring in transparency and the best of technology, hydro-electric projects above 5 MW capacity would undergo global bidding from henceforth. This would bring in healthy competition and transparency in the process and help in increasing the procuring maximum upfront premium from the power project executor.

In an another important decision, the Cabinet has decided to introduce Yoga education in all government educational institutions.
